UN Peacekeepers Guard against Piracy on Lake in DR Congo
A contingent of Uruguayan peacekeepers with the UN Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO) lands on a beach near Uvira, South Kivu province. The troops conduct an operation Tanganyika Lake to protect commercial navigation against piracy and armed groups, who carry out attacks and extort illegal taxes.
