UNAMID Assesses Damage after Deadly Ambush
Hassan Gibril, Head of Office Sector North of the African Union-UN Hybrid Operation in Darfur (UNAMID), speaks to peacekeepers at their base in Kutum, Sudan, following an attack on an UNAMID convoy last week. On 17 October peacekeepers were travelling near Hashaba, North Darfur, to investigate reports of violence in the area, when they were ambushed by unidentified gunmen.
