UNAMID Assesses Damage after Deadly Ambush
A close-up of one of the armoured personnel carriers of the African Union-UN Hybrid Operation in Darfur (UNAMID) involved in an attack 17 October which left one South African troop dead and injured three more. The UNAMID peacekeepers were travelling in a convoy near Hashaba, North Dafur, to investigate reports of violence in the area, when they were ambushed by unidentified gunmen.
