Security Council Condemns Deadly Attack on UNAMID Peacekeepers
Gert Rosenthal, Permanent Representative of Guatemala to the UN and Security Council President for October, reads a statement to the press on behalf of the Council, condemning in “the strongest terms” today’s killing of a South African peacekeeper with the African Union-UN Hybrid Operation in Darfur (UNAMID). Three others were injured, two severely, in the attack by unidentified gunmen in North Darfur.
