Launch of Secretary-General’s Global Initiative on Education
“Education First”, Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon’s Global Initiative on Education, which seeks to make a breakthrough to mobilize all partners to achieve universal primary education ahead of the 2015 target date for the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), was launched on the margins of the UN General Assembly’s general debate. Myanmar parliamentarian Aung San Suu Kyi (centre right) was one of the participants in a panel discussion linked to the launch.
