Secretary-General Adresses Parliament of Timor-Leste
Wide view of the setting, as Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon addresses the National Parliament of Timor-Leste, on his two-day state visit. “There is no limit to Timor-Leste’s future," Mr. Ban told parliamentarians,"if you continue to show a strong commitment to democratic values, meaningful participation, peace and stability.” The U.N. is preparing to withdraw its peacekeeping mission in the country (the U.N. Integrated Mission in Timor-Leste or UNMIT) at the end of the year.
