Security Council Expands 1540 Committee’s Group of Experts
The Security Council unanimously adopts resolution 2055 (2012), increasing the size of the group of experts which assists the Council’s committee monitoring the implementation of resolution 1540 (2004). The latter resolution aims to keep weapons of mass destruction and their components out of the hands of terrorists and other non-State actors. The group of experts will now have nine members, up from eight.
