UNOCI Holds Memorial Service for Nigerien Blue Helmets
Hervé Ladsous (left), Under-Secretary-General for Peacekeeping Operations, pays tribute to the seven Nigerien peacekeepers serving with the UN Operation in Côte d'Ivoire (UNOCI) who were killed in the line of duty little over one week ago. On 8 June the troops had been on patrol in southwest Côte d'Ivoire when their unit came under attack by unidentified armed elements.
