Deputy Special Representative for South Sudan Briefs on Displaced in Jonglei
Lise Grande, Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator in South Sudan, holds a press conference on the deteriorating situation in the country’s Jonglei State. Ms. Grande estimates that the same number of people displaced in South Sudan last year - 350,000 - will be displaced again this year, with over a hundred thousand people already affected by the attacks in Jonglei. To the left of Ms. Grande is Giovanni Bosco, Head of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in South Sudan.
