UN Chief in South Sudan Urges Jonglei Groups to Stop Hate Rhetoric
Hilde Johnson, Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Head of the UN mission in South Sudan (UNMISS), speaks to journalists from UNMISS’ headquarters in Juba, expressing her deep concern over the hate language being used in the midst of escalating ethnic tensions in Jonglei State. Ms. Johnson called on “the leaders of all the communities at all levels” to put an end to the rhetoric, which included a threat to wipe out an entire ethnic group.
