Laura Dupuy Lasserre, President of the Human Rights Council, opens a meeting on the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) of Syria, during the Council’s 12th UPR session. Each of the UN’s 193 Member States undergoes a review of its human rights record under the UPR mechanism.
