Secretary-General and Crown Prince of Spain Inaugurate UN Support Base in Valencia
Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon (centre) and Crown Prince Felipe of Spain unveil the commemorative plaque at the inauguration of the UN Support Base in Valencia. Yoo Soon-taek, wife of the Secretary-General, is on the right. The Base, which is called UNSB-V, is an integral part of the UN Global Field Support Strategy and the organization’s overall information and telecommunications plan. It will work in conjunction with the existing UN Logistics Base in Brindisi, Italy (UNLB)), to enhance the world body’s capacity to respond in an agile and efficient manner to crises around the world.
