Secretary-General Delivers Address on 25th Anniversary of Chernobyl Disaster
Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon addresses the International Research-to-Practice Conference, “25 Years after the Chernobyl Catastrophe: Safety for the Future”, in Kiev. Ukraine. Mr. Ban spoke about his experience visiting the Chernobyl site earlier in the day, and reminding that “nuclear accidents respect no borders”, stressed the need for more stringent international standards to enforce nuclear safety.
