Russian Representative Presents Secretary-General with UN Flag Flown into Space
Vitaly I. Churkin (left), Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN, presents Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon with a small United Nations flag that was flown into outer space three years ago on a joint Russian-Republic of Korea flight. Mr. Churkin presented the flag in honour of the fiftieth anniversary of Russian cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin’s first flight into space.
