UNOPS Contracts Specialists to Eliminate Mines in Western Sahara
Abba Mustafa (right), Saharawi Team Leader with non-governmental organization Action on Armed Violence, supervises colleague Mariam Zaid as she calibrates a large loop detector for the detection of mines in Mehaires, Western Sahara. The team, contracted by the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS), located fourteen submunitions and destroyed one bomblet, an MK 118, during the day's work.
