Security Council Debates Protection of Civilians in Armed Conflict
Kyung-wha Kang, UN Deputy High Commissioner for Human Rights, addresses an open debate of the Security Council on the protection of civilians in armed conflict. The Council unanimously adopted at its meeting resolution 1894 (2009), reiterating its condemnation in the strongest terms of attacks directed against civilians in situations of armed conflict.
