Security Council Debates on Protection of Civilians in Armed Conflict
Michael Spindelegger (left), Federal Minister for European and International Affairs of Austria, addresses an open debate of the Security Council on the protection of civilians in armed conflict. He also chaired the Council's meeting, as Austria is President of the Council for the month of November.
The Council unanimously adopted resolution 1894 (2009), reiterating its condemnation in the strongest terms of attacks directed against civilians in situations of armed conflict.
