Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon (left) meets with U.S. Senator John Kerry, Democrat from Massachusetts and Chairman of the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, in Washington D.C. During his one-day visit with congressional leaders Mr. Ban urged the U.S. to play a major role in forging a new climate change treaty, an important objective for the upcoming UN Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen.
