Ali Abdussalam Treki (left), President of the sixty-fourth session of the General Assembly, chairs the Assembly's meeting to consider the Goldstone Report - the result of a UN Fact-Finding Mission on the Gaza Conflict, headed by Justice Richard Goldstone. The report finds evidence of war crimes committed by Israelis and Palestinians during the three-week conflict in late 2008-early 2009. The Human Rights Council referred the report to the General Assembly in October through a resolution calling for the implementation of the report's recommendations, which include calls for the Assembly and the Security Council to ensure "accountability for serious violations of international humanitarian law and human rights".
