Secretary-General Addresses Global Forum on Migration and Development
Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon (at lectern) addresses the third annual Global Forum on Migration and Development (GFMD). The Forum this year is chaired by Greece and focuses on the overarching theme of "Integrating migration policies into development strategies for the benefit of all". A result of the High-Level Dialogue on International Migration and Development held by the UN General Assembly in September 2006, the GFMD is intended to provide an informal and non-binding framework for continued open dialogue on migration and development, and to promote cooperation between governments on the subject.
