UN Workers in Afghanistan Mourn Fallen Colleagues
UN staff in Afghanistan pay their final respects to two colleagues from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) election team, killed on 28 October in an attack on a Kabul guest house. Five UN workers died in the attack and several others were injured. Seen above, outside the vehicle containing a casket, is Kai Eide (centre window, front), Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Afghanistan and Head of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA), attending a service for the fallen workers.
