New UN Stamp Issued for International Day of Non-Violence
The United Nations Postal Administration issued a new stamp to commemorate the International Day of Non-Violence. The Day is observed each year on 2 October, the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi, leader of the Indian independence movement and pioneer of the philosophy and strategy of non-violence. The stamp image depicts a rendition of Mahatma Gandhi by artist Ferdie Pacheco.
