University of California’s Special Convocation for UN Birthday
Secretary-General Dag Hammarskjöld has suggested that, in trying to settle world problems, member nations should make greater use in the future of “quiet diplomacy” within the framework of the United Nations. As the same time he advocated efforts to strengthen the role of the International Court of Justice in the international constitutional system.
Mr. Hammarskjöld is seen here making these comments at a special convocation held at the University of California’s Greek Theater in Berkeley this afternoon, in honour of the UN’s tenth anniversary commemoration.
