Several months after the end of the hostilities between ONUC (UN Operation in the Congo) troops and Katangese soldiers, the remnants of a destroyed Harvard plane is one of the few leftovers, which remind us of the fighting. This and other planes which belonged to the Katangese air force here at Kolwezi, were destroyed on the ground by Swedish jetfighters on 30 December 1962. The Swedish SAAB-built planes formed part of the United Nations Air Force and they were flown by Swedish crews.
