Women Tend to Garden in Senegalese Rural Community
Women find time to tend to a large onion and cassava garden with the introduction of Multifunctional Platform Project (MFP) by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), because the women and girls no longer need to spend several hours a day gathering firewood or collecting water. MFP is a diesel engine to which a variety of end use equipment can be attached, including grinding mills, battery chargers, vegetable or nut oil presses, welding machines and carpentry tools.
