Following the Security Council resolution of 14 July 1960 authorizing UN military assistance to the Republic of the Congo, soldiers from a number of nations have been sent to help restore order and calm in the country.
The Swedish battalion serving with the United Nations Emergency Force in the Gaza Strip left yesterday for duty with the new UN Force in the Congo. From Gaza they came by train to Cairo, from where they were airlifted today to Leopoldville. Here, the Swedish troops are seen at Cairo Airport, about to board USAF aircraft.
