Following the Security Council resolution of 14 July 1960 authorizing UN military assistance to the Republic of the Congo, soldiers from a number of nations have been sent to help restore order and calm in the country.The Swedish battalion serving with the United Nations Emergency Force (UNEF) in the Gaza Strip left today for duty with the new UN Force in the Congo. The sector of the armistice demarcation line normally guarded by the Swedish troops will be watched by the Indian and Danor UNEF battalions.
