UN Audio Library provides audio recordings of meetings and events at Headquarters to journalists and broadcasters covering UN activities via the library's website and FTP-server.
UN Audio Library regularly updates the website with audio files of ongoing events: meetings, press conferences, stakeouts, and so forth. The events are posted to the website approximately 20-30 minutes after the end of the event. Each audio file will stay posted on the website for one month. These audio materials can be used by broadcasters in their programmes or newscasts or as a source of information and materials for individual reporters. Audio files can be searched by keyword, by date, or browsed by categories. All files are available for download in mp3 format.
The Audio Library's mission is to make audio recordings available to media organizations, governments and non-governmental organizations, researchers and civil society at large, in order to foster public understanding of the work of the United Nations and its goals. The Audio Library's role and purpose is to provide customers with the audio materials in a timely and efficient manner.
