The UN Security Council has welcomed the progress made in stabilizing Haiti in critical areas such as political dialogue, extension of State authority, including border management, strengthening of security, and the rule of law and human rights.

St. Vincent and the Grenadines appointed co-facilitator of the preparatory process for a major high-level conference on the global financial crisis
The UN General Assembly has approved a resolution inviting leaders of the 192 UN member States to a summit on the global financial crisis in June.
The resolution, adopted by consensus, authorizes a conference "at the highest level" at UN headquarters in New York from June 1-3 on the world financial and economic crisis and its impact on development. It will also focus on reforming and strengthening the international financial and economic system and architecture.
St. Vincent and the Grenadines and the Kingdom of the Netherlands have been appointed co-facilitators for the conference preparatory process.
