Over 200 Africans are missing and presumed dead off Libyan coast

- Over 200 African migrants are missing and feared dead after a smuggler's boat sank off the coast of Libya as it tried to sail to Italy over the weekend. According to reports, 100 bodies have been recovered and the search for the missing migrants has been called off.


Africans face xenophobic attacks in Ukraine 


- African migrants in Ukraine are victims of xenophobic attacks by young skinheads. Charles Asante Yeboa, a Ghanaian immigrant and President of the African Centre, tells UN Radio in Geneva that he narrowly escaped such an attack by skinheads who wanted to kill him.


An activist stresses need to control arms trade in Africa

- As conflicts continue to plague Africa, efforts are under way at the United Nations to negotiate a treaty to control the sale of small arms. Joseph Dube of the International Action Network on Small Arms says it's critical to control the sale of small arms and prevent them from falling into the wrong hands.
