- March 8 marked International Women's Day to focus attention on issues of concerns to women around the world. In the Democratic Republic of the Congo sexual violence against women is a serious concern. A photojournalist has put up an exhibition in Geneva highlighting this problem.
A Workshop helps heal trauma of 1994 Rwanda genocide
- Many people who survived the 1994 Rwanda genocide witnessed the slaughter of their loved ones at the hands of their neighbours. They live with the trauma of those hundred days of genocide. A film maker from Kenya has produced a documentary about a workshop that brings together victims and perpetrators of the genocide.
Indigenous people of Botswana face disadvantages
- The Basarwa and other indigenous people of Botswana have suffered a history of dispossession of their land. An expert on the rights of indigenous people says while the government of Botswana is concerned about the socio-economic well being of these people, it should do so in a way that respects their cultures.
