Gurmit Singh helped found one of Malaysia's oldest environmental organizations to later become Chairman of the Center for Environmental Technology. Having attended the very first climate negotiations 15 years ago, he expresses his disappointment at the outcome of the latest Climate Talks in Copenhagen to Emily Benson of the Stakeholder's Forum for a Sustainable Future.

The United Nations remains committed to Afghanistan
Afghanistan will remain a priority for the United Nations in 2010, the Secretary-General told the Security Council in January. Despite the flawed elections and the deteriorating security situation, Ban Ki-moon said the UN remains firmly committed to supporting the men and women of Afghanistan to find the path of stability and peace.
