ITU and United Arab Emirates sign deal for state-of-the-art museum
The International Telecommunications Union (ITU) and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have sealed a deal for the establishment of a museum on information and communication technologies.
The agreement was signed in Abu Dhabi on Sunday by the ITU, Secretary-General Dr. Hamadoun Toure, and the Director General of the UAE's Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, Mohamed Al Ghanim.
The United Arab Emirates has donated $2 million for the establishment of the museum, to be known as the Exploratorium which will be housed at the ITU headquarters in Geneva.
The Exploratorium will focus on the past, present and future impact of information and communication technologies on human lives.
Planned to open next year, the museum will inform visitors about the latest developments in information and communications technologies and the role of the ITU in helping to connect the world.
