- The Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency Dr. Mohamed ElBaradei this week presented his last report to the General Assembly. He says the agency has made considerable progress in bringing the benefits of peaceful nuclear technology to developing countries, including Africa.

Maasai protect their intellectual property rights

- The World Intellectual Property Organization has implemented a pilot project to help the Maasai people of Kenya preserve and own copyrights to their rich cultural heritage. Wend Wendland of WIPO says the Maasai requested assistance to protect their heritage from third parties who exploit their culture.
