Speaking outside the Security Council Chamber, she said she has made eleven trips to the region and spent the entire month of February there.

Ms. Farrow, who is UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, said eighty per cent of the displaced people in the camps are women and children.

She recalled that when there was a premature announcement of the indictment of President Al Bashir in February, there was a lot of excitement in the camps.

"I arrived in the camps at 7:00 a.m. and heard the drums and the singing as it rippled through the camp as news spread throughout the camp and people began dancing and singing. I have met at least a hundred babies named Ocampo. (LAUGHTER). And they spell it O-K-A -M-B-O. The name has been Africanized. And I have a big sign, I will put it on my website, that says "Okambo up up. Al Bashir down down down."

Luis Moreno Ocampo is the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, which has issued a warrant of arrest for the President Al Bashir, on charges of crimes against humanity.

Ms. Farrow says the people of Darfur have suffered immeasurable losses and they say they don't believe there can be any just and lasting peace with President Omar Al Bashir.
