Sudanese envoy says Doha accord paves way for peace in Darfur

- The government of Sudan and the rebel Justice and Equality Movement this week signed an agreement to pave the way for talks to resolve the problem of Darfur. Sudan's envoy to the UN Ambassador Abdalmahmood Abdalhaleem Mohamad tells UN Radio that a final solution is expected in three months time.
Media has a role to promote development in Africa
- A debate continues about the role of media in promoting development in Africa. One view is that it is not the job of reporters to play a supporting role in development. The other is that the media should balance its reporting to include positive stories on efforts to promote development in Africa.
UN expert says displaced people need help in eastern Chad
