UN Radio's Ben Malor interviews John Holmes, the Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator on the progress of collecting monetary funds to assist Gaza in it's short-term rebuilding efforts. Holmes remains confident that nations will continue to donate monetary assistance to the Gaza rebuilding fund, despite the current global economic crisis. Holmes reports that thus far 80 million dollars has been donated, and millions more are expected in the coming weeks. Also, Holmes continues to call for the reopening of border crossings for commercial goods and humanitarian purposes, to allow Gazans to not only exist, but live.
