UN remembers those who died and suffered during the Holocaust

On January 27 each year, the United Nations remembers the Holocaust. The day officially recognized as the International Day of Commemoration in Memory of the Victims of the Holocaust remembers those who died and suffered during the Holocaust. At a special event organized by the Holocaust and the UN Outreach Program, Deputy Secretary-General Asha Rose Migiro speaking on behalf of the Secretary-General said new initiatives in holocaust remembrance and education have provided a basis for hope which the Secretary-General said is a theme for this year's observance. Still the UN Chief said, in his statement, that more must be done to help make that hope a reality.
