- As the cholera epidemic continues to plague Zimbabwe, a report by Physicians for Human Rights says the collapse of the health crisis in the country is man-made.The lead author of the report, Richard Sollom, says the health crisis is not only cholera but HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis.

- Ethiopian troops, which have been supporting the transitional government of Somalia, are withdrawing from Mogadishu. While there is concern about a power vacuum, the UN special envoy calls on Somalis to seize the opportunity of the withdrawal to ensure stability and peace in their country.
