World leaders agree on text to present to Security Council for Gaza resolution
After three days of meeting behind closed doors world leaders including Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, Foreign Secretary David Milliband, Prince Saud Al-Faisal, the Foreign Minister of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and Amr Moussa Secretary-General of the League of Arab States and have emerged with what they describe as a strong text for a Security Council resolution addressing the on-going violence in Gaza. The draft calls for the "unimpeded provision and distribution throughout Gaza of humanitarian assistance" and "an immediate, durable and fully respected cease fire, leading to the full withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza." The council is expected to vote on the resolution Wednesday evening.
