It appears that the Middle East region faces another challenge. The UN Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) reports that three Katysha rockets were fired from Lebanon into northern Israel. Michele Montas, the Secretary-General's spokesperson says additional UNIFIL troops have been deployed on the ground to prevent any further incidents. The Secretary-General took the opportunity to remind the parties of their obligation to fully adhere to Security Council resolution 1701 (2006) and respect the cessation of hostilities agreement. UNIFIL is investigating the incident.
