ICRC demands full access to Gaza wounded
The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is demanding full access to the war wounded in Gaza.
In a statement Thursday, ICRC says a three-hour pause is not enough to reach the wounded and evacuate them to hospitals. It says access must be on a 24 hour basis.
And it wants Israel to allow the Palestinian Red Crescent unhindered access to the war wounded.
The ICRC says the Israeli defence forces have failed to uphold their obligations under international humanitarian law to assist the war wounded irrespective of their affiliation.
It says the Palestinian Red Crescent on Wednesday came across a house with 12 dead people and four children who were still alive next to their dead mothers.
ICRC says the house was just 80 meters away from an Israeli Defence Force (IDF) post.
ICRC is reporting that 683 people have been killed with more a third of them being women and children.
More than 3,000 people have been wounded.
