UN Chief Takes 'Solar Taxi' to Work

Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon took his first-ever ride in a solar-powered vehicle. He traveled in the 'Solar Taxi' from his residence to UN headquarters. The UN Chief has been a strong proponent of adopting alternatives that help reverse climate change. The vehicle is the idea of Swiss solar energy pioneer Louis Palmer who has offered free rides to personalities in Manhattan including New York mayor Michael Bloomberg, Titanic film director James Cameron and the Secretary General.
