Nuclear Science Used to Protect and Preserve Works of Art
02/09/2008
Nuclear techniques are being used to protect and preserve works of art in Croatia. The techniques are supported by the UN's International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) which operates a project to protect cultural heritage artifacts in Europe. The Ruder Boskovic Institute in Zagreb takes part in this programme and operates a facility where works of art can be decontaminated and cleared of insects using radiation.
