Government Officials and Activists Gather in Advance of International Meeting on Sexual Exploitation of Children
20/08/2008
Despite some progress in recent years in addressing the problem of sexual abuse of children in East Asia and the Pacific, much more needs to be done to address the issue of child exploitation. That was one of the key messages heard at a preparatory meeting for the World Congress against Sexual Exploitation of Children and Adolescents to be held in Rio de Janeiro (November 25-28). Hundreds of experts, government officials and young activists from around the region attended the meeting, which was held at the UN Conference Center in Bangkok.
