Myanmar Junta and World Can Work Together - Cyclone Proved it - Vietnamese Ambassador
Vietnam's UN Ambassador Le Luong Minh says the cooperation and coordination between international relief efforts and the Government of Myanmar to help victims of Cyclone Nargis proved that the military junta is willing to work with the world. He says that working relationship can carry over into the efforts at political reform. U.S. Ambassador Zalmay Khalilzad says that better happen or Washington will seek "stronger measures" against the leaders of Myanmar in the Security Council. The Secretary-General's Special Representative for Myanmar, Ibrahim Gambari, will return to the country in August. Vietnam hopes for progress on a wide range of issues. The U.S. is demanding progress on political reform.
