UN Still Seeks $3.6 Billion to Fund Projects for Global Humanitarian Crises
16/07/2008
John Holmes, the UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs says half way through the year UN agencies are still seeking $3.6 billion to fund projects for global humanitarian operations. The Humanitarian Affairs Coordinator says close to 50% of the aid has been pledged by donors leaving a gap of $6.5 billion. The mid-year review of the humanitarian appeal is designed to determine what changes are required in both strategies and funding needs to address global humanitarian operations.
