Destruction and killing in Gaza continue at an increased pace: UNRWA
The UN agency assisting Palestinian refugees-UNRWA says the destruction, the killing and the mayhem continue at an increased pace in Gaza.
He says the only positive development is that they've been able to distribute food.
"We were able to bring some trucks in; we were able to distribute to a certain number of needy refugees and non-refugees who queued into our warehouses, the ones that we managed to open.
But the fact remains that the continued bombardment of Gaza and the absence of safe passages meant that not all the refugees were able to reach these distribution centres."
Mshasha says UNRWA is distributing food with some risk to its staff. But he warns these truckloads of food will not sustain the need of the population for a long period.
He says there's need for a continuous and uninterrupted flow of humanitarian goods in to Gaza to meet the immediate needs of the population on many levels.
