These range from the administration of justice and human resource management to financing for the African Union -United Nations Hybrid Operation in Darfur-UNAMID.
Wrapping up the session, General Assembly President Miguel d'Escoto Brockman highlighted the successful work of member States during its fall meetings, which he said had taken place under the looming shadow of the global financial, food and energy crises.

"The General Assembly also held a meeting on the special needs of Africa which gave African countries the opportunity to draw attention to what they really need and not what others think they need."

The Assembly also convened a high-level meeting devoted to the Millennium Development Goals.
