IOM provides support to Haitian communities affected by storms
Communities in Haiti affected by consecutive Tropical Storms during this past hurricane season are getting support from the International Organization for Migration-IOM.
Three months after the storms, IOM is launching its emergency relief operations to assist communities affected by the ensuing disaster.
IOM has been distributing repair and reconstruction kits to more than 5,000 affected families in hard-hit areas. The majority of families targeted are those still accommodated in collective centres and in tent sites in Gonaives, the area most affected by the floods.
Meanwhile, to address the needs of families that are not homeowners, IOM along with other partners, is making arrangements to provide cash that will enable rentals of premises for a full year.
